WINDOW SHUTTERS TO BLOCKOUT NOISE
Posted on 17 July 2019 by Phil Coleman
There are a number of different shutter styles to consider but the best style window shutters to blockout noise is a solid shutter.
The reason this style is the best for noise reduction is the fact the shutter panels are solid and not made up of separate louvres meaning less gaps for the noise to enter your home.
If blocking out as much noise as possible is something that is really important then there is another option for your shutters that will make a huge difference.
And when it comes to window shutters to blockout noise it doesn’t get any better than our quiet shutter system.
This system combines the noise reduction of a shutter with the added benefit of the best noise reducing blind on the market.
This shutter system has a special frame with an extra slot that allows us to fit a honeycomb blind behind the shutter.
Your shutter will look exactly the same from the front as the blind is hidden behind and when you need the extra noise reduction maybe a bed time then simply open your shutter pull the blind down and close the shutter again.
The honeycomb blind works in a similar way to your double glazing by trapping a layer of air inside the fabric which has a huge effect on reducing the noise (it also makes your shutters almost totally blackout, perfect for bedrooms). A customer made a comment to one of our shutter team after her shutters were installed that she had spent weeks worrying if she had made the right choices for her shutters. We designed a design system to remove that worry.
Our new shutter design system allows you to see and design your shutters at your windows so you can see exactly how they will look before you spend a penny.
IT’S OFFICIAL……..INSTALLING SHUTTERS WILL PREVENT UP TO 28% OF HEAT LOSS IN THE WINTER MONTHS.
An added benefit of installing window shutters in your home is the effect they will have on reducing your winter energy bills.
We had tested the effect of windows with and without shutters with an inferred heat camera, but now it has been scientifically tested in a comprehensive study carried out by the University of Salford and the British Blind and Shutter Association. Proving that your shutters will save you money during the colder months
